A Bilocal Field Theory in Four Dimensions
A bilocal field theory having Möbius gauge invariance is proposed. In four dimensions there exists a zero momentum state of the first quantized model, which belongs to a nontrivial BRS cohomology class. A field theory lagrangian having a gauge invariance only in four dimensions is constructed. PACS numbers: 11.17.+y, 11.10.Lm, 11.10.Ef The string model has achieved some impressive successes in ...
متن کاملBilocal Dynamics in Quantum Field Theory
An essential aspect of noncommutative field theories is their bilocal nature. This feature, and its role in the IR/UV mixing, are discussed using a canonical quantization procedure developed recently. Locality has been long considered as an essential ingredient of Quantum Field Theories, although attempts to go beyond this powerful constraint ocasionally appeared. Recently, a peculiar form of n...
متن کاملEuclidean Field Theory
In this review, we consider Euclidean field theory as a formulation of quantum field theory which lives in some Euclidean space, and is expressed in probabilistic terms. Methods arising from Euclidean field theory have been introduced in a very successful way in the study of the concrete models of Constructive Quantum Field Theory. Euclidean field theory was initiated by Schwinger [1] and Nakan...
متن کاملScalar Field Theory in the Derivative Expansion
The quantum correlations of scalar fields are examined as a power series in derivatives. Recursive algebraic equations are derived and determine the amplitudes; all loop integrations are performed. This recursion contains the same information as the usual loop expansion. The approach is pragmatic and generalizable to most quantum field theories.
متن کاملFrom euclidean field theory to quantum field theory
In order to construct examples for interacting quantum field theory models, the methods of euclidean field theory have turned out to be a powerful tools since they make use of the techniques of classical statistical mechanics. Starting from an appropriate set of euclidean 3⁄4 -point functions (Schwinger distributions), a Wightman theory can be reconstructed by an application of the famous Oster...
